"SPINACH & EGG" DISHES.
PORCELAIN GLAZED WITH WHITE, YELLOW OCHER & GREEN MOTTLED COLORATION.
JAPAN. FOUND IN INDONESIA.
CIRCA 18th CENTURY.

These are 18th Japanese reproductions of Chinese Tang Dynasty ceramics of this style and coloration. Reproductions of the “Spinach & Egg” ceramics have been done by the Chinese, the Japanese & the
Dutch at various periods. The Japanese ceramics were traded in the Indonesian archipelago, where they became a local barter currency.

These “Spinach & Egg” ceramics were collected by Mr. Strusinski over an extensive period of search in the Indonesia Archipelago. All available specimens all display an unusually fine condition, being free of cracks and chips in the glaze. Specimens such as these are very rare, and a collection of this size is not commonly available to collectors.
